Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actress who was best known for her portrayal of Missandei in HBO's epic fantasy "Game of Thrones" (HBO 2011, 2011-19). Emmanuel grew up in Southend-on-the-Sea a resort in Essex and was attracted to the performing arts from when she was a child. Nathalie began to take singing, acting and dancing lessons around when she was just 3. Her parents were amazed. Emmanuel developed quickly as a performer, and by the late 90s she was playing young Nala on stage in The West End show of the acclaimed musical "The Lion King." Emmanuel was a candidate for roles in the film industry and on television while she was just a teenager. She was able to land her first significant role. she appeared as Sasha Valentine in the British soap opera Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel played the character for four seasons and then left the series in 2010. Emmanuel was given her first break three years after that, when she was cast as Missandei on the HBO show Game of Thrones. She was the Daenerys' interpreter (played by Emilia Clarke).
