LeonaLeona Louise Lewis was born on the 3rd of April 1985 is an actor an activist, singer and actress who hails from Britain. She was born and raised in the London Borough of Islington and took classes at Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis received national recognition after she won the third season of The X Factor 2006 and received a contract worth 1,000,000 pounds with Syco music. Her winning song, the cover version from Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" which peaked at the top of the charts, reached #1 for four weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching 100,000 digital downloads in only thirty minutes. In February 2007 Lewis was signed to a contract for five albums in the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Lewis continued her success with Spirit which was her debut studio album. It reached platinum status 10 times over recognized in the UK. Spirit became one of the top four albums sold in 2000s, and also one of the best-selling UK albums. Spirit According to Official Charts Company is the highest-selling debut album by a female singer. Its top-selling single in the United Kingdom, Bleeding Love, remained at no. one for seven weeks and became the best-selling album of 2007, in the eyes of the Official charts company. It was also the most-sold single in 2008 as well. Lewis earned the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. Echo is her second studio album. The album also featured the track "I Have You in My Eyes" in the movie Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii as well as her debut extended-play, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis' 3rd studio album. It's an exciting and fresh musical direction. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep , as well as electronic music. The Glassheart Tour was in the middle of 2013, when she began recording music to make her first Christmas album. Later that year, Christmas with Love, which featured the single that was released as the album's lead track "One more sleep" was ranked third within the UK. Lewis who is one of the few British solo female artist was the first artist to make it into the top 5 with eight singles. This surpasses Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
